Dione moneta butleri would fly from Central America to Ecuador, and D. m. moneta throughout the other parts of South America (d’Abrera 1984) ; it is however impossible to differentiate them !
we saw Dione moneta in the Park near Méndez, at rio Miriumi, 1000 m, above Macas and at el Retiro, 1900 m.
