Heliconius aoede is a species from the Amazon basin and from the Guyanas;
Massimo Demaio calls our attention to the fact that these butterflies, collected 20 km North of the new Pastaza bridge (900 m), look quite like H. aoede auca, a new ssp described by Neunkirchen (1999), and the type of which comes from "Ecuador".
