Pyrrhopygopsis socrates, seen near Pablo Sexto and Sucùa and farther East ; looks pretty much like some Pyrrhopyge sp ;


Ernst Brockmann would think it was Pyrrhopygopsis socrates orsus, but Bernard Hermier believes it would rather be Pyrrhopygopsis socrates crates, the wings being clearly blue, and not green ; but it also could be a different species ?


anyway, in the butterfliesofamerica database there are specimens of P. s. orasus and P. s. crates that one cannot tell from each other..
