Male

wingspan : 37 mm

Bernard Hermier tells us that this skipper, collected at rio Pastaza, and near Palora, is Anastrus sempiternus sempiternus ;

this butterfly is said to fly from Mexico to Ecuador, but where in Ecuador ? we saw it just near rio Pastaza new bridge (puente Obenques), on the North bank.

and we saw and collected Anastrus sempiternus simplicior at a short distance, at Pablo Sexto and rio Shankaime, on the South bank ; this butterfly flying from Guyanas to Ecuador.

it is not absolutely impossible that rio Pastaza be the limit between the two ssp, but we'd better find more specimens before elaborating.
